That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving and declare all Your wonders.
Psalm 26:7 NAS
Our Father,
We have been brought low. We have suffered division, disease, and discouragement.
We are broken. We have come to the end of ourselves. We have discovered that we are incapable of healing ourselves.
We cry. We lament. We mourn.
We rejoice.
We rejoice because when we see death, You promise life (1 Jn. 2:25). We rejoice because when we see despair, You give hope (2 Cor. 4:16-18). When we see disease You promise healing (1 Cor. 15:52).
We rejoice because You have reconciled us unto yourself through the cross of your Son ( 2 Cor. 5:19).
We rejoice because You have united us together with Christ (1 Cor. 1:30).
We rejoice because You have given us the Spirit as our Comforter, Guide, and Seal (John 14:16; 16:13; Eph. 1:13-14).
We rejoice because You have gathered us with other believers who demonstrate faith, hope, and love (1 Thess. 1:3).
We rejoice because–though this world gives death–You gave Your life (1 Tim. 2:6).
We rejoice because–though we are unrighteous–You gave us your righteousness in exchange (2 Cor. 5:21).
We hope. We trust. We believe.
We share. We proclaim. We declare.
Let us rejoice.
